Top Talent Doesn’t Care What You Want…

Here’s a hard truth: the high-performing Real Estate talent you really want to hire…

They don’t care about your shopping list of demands (sorry!)

 

And yet, so many job specs still read like this:

  • You must have 10+ years of X
  • You must be a self-starter
  • You must hold XYZ qualification
  • You must already be doing the job you’re applying for with a similar title and similar salary…

Why would someone who isn’t actively looking—someone who’s already winning—care what you want?

 

They don’t know you. They don’t owe you. And frankly, they’re not short of options.

 

If you’re serious about attracting elite performers, flip the script.

 

Try this instead:

  • Here’s how your life gets better if you join us
  • Here’s your part in our bigger journey
  • Here’s what’s in it for you (and we’ve actually thought about it)
  • Here’s what your future colleagues say about working here
  • Here’s what we believe in—and where we’re going

Because if you want someone who doesn’t need a new job to consider yours, you’d better start selling the story, not the spec.

Still not convinced? Run the SO WHAT test.

Pick up your current job ad, read every line like a top performer would, and ask:

“So what? What’s in this for me?”

 

If the answer is not a great deal, your shortlist won’t be a big deal either!

 

Of course, you could always shortcut the pain and partner with someone who doesn’t just find people—but knows how to move them.
